How to Cancel an Appointment Without Sounding Rude
Life happens. Something came up and you need to cancel. But you don't want to burn the bridge, get charged a fee, or come across as flaky. Whether it's a doctor, a therapist, a consultant, or a service provider, these texts and messages handle the cancellation gracefully and leave the door open for rescheduling.

When to Use This
Send this as soon as you know you can't make it. The more notice you give, the better — most providers have a 24-48 hour cancellation policy. Offering to reschedule immediately shows you're not just blowing them off. Keep it short — they don't need your life story.
What Not to Say
Don't over-explain or make up an elaborate excuse — "something came up" is perfectly fine. Don't cancel by just not showing up — that's disrespectful and often costs you money. Don't send the cancellation at 3 AM and hope they see it — call or text during business hours when possible. And don't cancel repeatedly without rescheduling — that's how you get dropped as a client.
