How to Text Someone That You Are Waiting for Them
When someone is late and you are just sitting there, it is hard to text without sounding passive-aggressive. The goal is to check in without making them feel terrible -- a quick, warm message that gives them a chance to update you.

When to Use This
Use this when you are waiting at a restaurant, coffee shop, appointment, or meeting point and the other person has not shown up yet. Works best after about 10 to 15 minutes of waiting. Good for friends, dates, or casual professional meetups.
What Not to Say
Do not send multiple messages in a row if they do not respond immediately. Avoid sarcasm like so nice of you to show up. Do not make them feel guilty unless it is a pattern. Never assume the worst -- they might be stuck in traffic or dealing with something.
Follow-Up Message
If You Need to Follow Up
Hey just checking in -- are you still on your way? Happy to wait a bit longer, just want to make sure we are still on for today.
