When to Use This
Set this up the day you leave and configure it to turn off the day you return. Always include a backup contact for urgent issues. If you're truly off the grid, say so — people will adjust.
What Not to Say
Don't say "I may check email periodically" unless you actually will — it sets false expectations. Don't include your personal phone number. Don't write a joke-heavy OOO unless your company culture supports it. And don't forget to actually turn it on.
